this was from a series of self portraits I did on a whim. The set up was using a black cloth background (my comforter) and ambient light from the window that was to the right of the frame plus a sheet of Styrofoam reflecting the window light as fill lighting.
f/ 1.8, 1/400sec, ISO 1000

Please let me know what you think, thanks.

Call me a stickler, but I'm not a big fan of having your booger hook on the bang switch when you have that thing pointed at your jewels.

DA trigger or not, loaded or not, still makes me nervous. But hey, it's your lineage, not mine.

Also, seems that the black background is streaky.

Other than that, I find it to be enjoyable.

lol, that made me laugh! But agreed, if the finger is on the trigger, I can't tell, it looks straight to me!

haha, I checked it, double checked it, triple checked it, then counted the bullets I took out, checked it again, dry fired it into the ground a few times the checked it one more time. I am a stickler about that stuff too.

As for the streaks, I am only noticing them once I upload them to photobucket so I think it has something to do with that, on my computer they are not visible but I will see if I can clone over that area anyways... It is from the stitching on my comforter since I don't have a nice fancy backdrop...

hahah you definitely should have ironed some of the wrinkles out of that coat first! hahaha

Are you kidding? How many scientists do you know that ever even iron their shirts or slacks - let alone their lab coats? :lmao:

If anything, that coat is too clean.

yeah I kinda like the wrinkles. I don't want it to look sterile.

this +1

Is that a real pistol in his pocket or is he just happy to see you?

I like the photo itself, but think it could do with some improvements.

You called it "mad scientist". What makes me think this scientist is mad? Just 'cause he's pulling a gun out of his lab coat doesn't make him mad. Maybe there were some zombies waking up from the operating table and he needed to protect himself. :lmao:

I think we need to see the correlation between the gun being drawn, and the expression of the subjects face.
