A well-earned lunch

These three little monkeys (aged 5, 2, and 4...nephew, daughter, son) earned their lunch on a 2.5km hike up to Dundas Peak, which is about 90m climb up, including several staircases. I was impressed.

Wow. That's just shy of a 3 mile hike... the 2yr old walked that?

Oops, it's 2.1km, so 4.2 total. Elevation was correct. The 2 year old DID walk all the way up. She had some shoulder riding on the way back down but only for a little bit of it...she's a machine! I hike with them every weekend (mine, that is, my nephew only occasionally) and we've slowly built up to this endurance level over the summer. Mind you, the 4km took us nearly 3 hours with stops and sight seeing and dilly dallying. Lol. She's a pokey one.

Last January my son did 3 miles of red rock trekking with us in Sedona Arizona when he was just turned 3 (the little one rode backpack that trip!).
