Adding computer chips to old lenses

For those who are interested in the more esoteric parts of photo hardware, you might look at this excellent demo of adding a control chip to the workings of a Noct Nikkor 58 1.2.
This may introduce a new level of working with camera gear for you.

Wow, I always wanted to get an old AI/s lens and have a cpu chip added. I think it would be neat. I know there is a guy around the internet that did it for $50ish depending on the lens. I wouldn't mind getting the good 135 2.8 AIS chipped. I know some that have the 100 2.8 Series E chipped. Its pretty cool that you can do this.

This isn't really a Nikon fanboy site but a reboot of the old Nikongear site that had a collection of really fine, technically accomplished photographers. They are using the name to attract the old audience.
The work is really fine and all of the posters seem very accomplished technically.
If you are interested in macro stuff this My Fav Spider is amazing. 5x magnification and a 290 image stack.
