Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4?

while i would recommend lightroom to someone all day long, the downside is that if/when you find you DO need to do some pixel editing...you have to go buy another program

That's not true. There are several FREE pixel-level editing programs that are more than adequate.

i believe in another part of my post I actually said he could get lightroom and a free pixel editor like GIMP

Then why confuse the issue and anyone reading the responses with a contradictory statement that, "if/when you find you DO need to do some pixel editing...you have to go buy another program"? What's the point of writing that? Why did you make such a statement when it's clearly not true?

LR 4 will keep you organized as well as edit 98% of your images. You can get it for a student discount for 30 days. There is a LR forum run by the "Queen Of LightRoom" Victoria who is a wiz at this stuff ...Look up Laura Shoe as she is very good at teaching LR and has free classes coming up Mar 18,19,20, she will start you off right so download the 30day take her class and then purchase it with a student discount if you qualify.

LR4 rocks!

I use photoshop, portrait professional, plug-ins galore, but 99.9% of my photo's need no more than LR4 throws at them! Actually, LR4 deserves a 2 thumbs up, EVERY photo that leaves my cam gets touched by LR4

Had I not taken the studio advanced lighting class (and the professor and glamor photographer not have turned me on to LR3 back in the day, I'd have believed the naysayers and thought) ...."naw, it ain;t worth it, I can live without it"

I realized exactly what you pointed out... SO.. When i made my second post i corrected it to mention getting LR and a free editor like gimp. I just never went back and edited my first post, cause honestly, i figured that anyone that actually read through would see what i wrote in the second post and pretty much understand what had transpired.

Way to overreact. That was awesome.
