AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm auto focus stopped working...

My first concern was the auto focus motor in the camera itself, but other lenses work fine. It's still under warranty, so I guess I can try to get it fixed. Any ideas?

Did you hit the switch to change it to manual focus?

I have the same issue and I cleaned the sensor in the cam and the lens. I have no warranty anymore. Being on Korea and not speaking their language I might just need to buy a new lens.
I do have a AF-L and a AE-L button on my camera if that has anything to do with it please help me understand.

Fixed it: under Menu, Pencil, autofocus, f2- assign AE-L/AF-L button "unselect"
: AF-On!!
