I think you'd find a really good shot had you gotten closer or zoomed in, and knelt down That would have eliminated the space between the reflections and the trees, also moving in closer to magnify the effect. You would then have the foreground reflections with blue sky and backed by the concrete wall as a foreground and the actual trees and sky as background.

Interesting ideas, but I really liked the way the sand came around the water on the right, and emphasized that it was a reflection in a discrete puddle. I'm sure there are other, maybe better ways it could have been taken, but I'm happy with this one.
