I am finding very difficult to determine whether "LaFoto" is a man or a woman or a PAT.

Pat is a unisex name... so someone who's sex isn't easily determined can be called a Pat.
Since Pat can be either a man or a woman's name!
Someone who is unlucky enough to be born as both can also be called a Pat.

Thanks and the vignetting was due to the polarized filter I used when I took the shot. Not much I could do.
