This morning Jr. and I were out shooting and a Yellow Warbler was a great opportunity to practice.

First some static shot with an easy background.

The because the warbler moved into a more challenging background....and apparently I don't like myself, it's time to practice in flight shots in a complicated environment. I do this quite frequently but normally don't post the images as they are just practice for the "Lifer" bird that only presents a challenging shoot. I think it's something every wildlife (bird) photographer should practice.

Here were this mornings results.

Yes. It does really help when you only get one chance at an image to have the practice down.

Thank you.

Very nice, in my opinion, if you can shoot small birds in flight, you can shoot anything, I don't think any other kind of photography is more difficult to master than birds in flight.

Love that 4th one with the wings flapping. Very nice.

Beautiful shots... love them all.
