American Robin

Yes I really like these Robin's. Very well taken on that low angle and the head turning back. Very well done. Great markings and feathering layers they have on the back.

All the best and send a few down. I'll swap you an American Robin for a native Tui from here, now that's good deal. Customs would love it :) :)

Thanks guys. Most of the robins I been seeing look kinda beat up dull this one looked really heathy and think thats what caught my eye.The charcoal color and blacks on him looked better then anything I have seen. I have robins everyday in my yard and none look like this one.

So in that case, could it be a juvenile by any chance, maybe a fresh young one to look so studdly ;)

All the best and tis a beauty.

Great shot with good eye contact. But I'm perplexed too -- I've never seen a Robin with those colors. Lee

He's just a bit studlier than your other boys - they get this charcoal black look and a really extra red breast to impress the ladies for mating season. He'll fade back to brown and russet after he lands himself a girl.

A lot like human females - lands the husband, quits with the makeup and the pushup bra. ha.
