an agitated sapsucker

this little guy was preening on top of a dead tree at a park this afternoon, when another red-breasted sapsucker male landed on a branch lower down. this little fella got all indignant and huffy about it, and put on a display of his displeasure. the interloper left, and our hero proclaimed his victory to all who would listen...
