The picturesque church of St Wilfrid, Halton, taken from the middle of the road outside the churchyard! And a detail of a tenth century cross in that very churchyard showing, it seems, scenes from the pagan Norse saga of Sigurd. Elsewhere on the cross is traditional Christian imagery.
