Interesting observation. I am an idiot, I was screwing around with switching the focus point on a Canon 90D, and accidently set the ISO to 800 instead LOL. The rest of the day was at ISO 800 even in full daylight. The tail actually has a lot of detail but the JPEG pretty much wiped it out. Ah well... Live and learn (or try to).

Yes, I accidently switched it from Auto to 800.

The tail may be a bit on the bright side, Mitch, but it's still a nice shot. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, bud, today my old habit resurfaced and I got excited and started shooting without checking my exposure. After shooting it dawned on me what I'd done and a wave of anxiety came over me. Lucky for me, I've gotten better at judging s.s. for the light at hand so there was enough light in my RAW pics to boost the ISO without creating a bunch of noise. They were pics of two reddish egrets mating. It's rare enough just to see one but two mating is quite possibly a once in a lifetime thing. I would've lost my mind if they had not come out ok.

Yes she is! That's a fantastic shot, even with the tail. If you have the RAW image, you may be able to fix that.

I think I need to stop switching between ecosystems. I get mad because a function I KNEW was there is missing. And then I remember it's the other camera that does that. Between Nikon, Canon, Sony, and my fading cognition it's surprising I get any shots at all...
