The image is flattened, but one would expect that. Color and detail good, though.

Without knowing if it was cropped I would say it looks quite good and agree with the compression but the longer you go the more compression you have.
If it was cropped to any degree I would say it is very good.

Not knowing what body you are using, did you re focus adjust after putting on the converter. I find it is almost always required.
