I bumped in Anthony whilst in the Stokes Croft area of Bristol. This is quite an infamous part of the city, having once been famous for popular unrest in the form of riots, a late night scene, along with the associated paraphernalia of drink and drugs. It's also home to one of Banksy's best pieces of graffiti 'Mild Mild West'.

As ever, these once run down places are starting to gentrify, so there is an eclectic mix of people. Rich, poor and every form of addiction going. Anthony was pleased to explain that his only vice
is alcohol. He is however homeless and wheel chair bound. I offered him a coffee, but he politely declined. He did however agree to have his photograph taken.

At first glance, I didn't consider this as good as some of your other works, but as I studied the image I felt, rather than saw, the despair that comes to those who've lost hope, then I read the back story. Well done!

Love the lighting, the treatment and the emotion. One think I think that could potentially improve the shot would be to reduce the saturation of the lip color just a little bit.

Ha, you're probably right! Sometimes there are so many little adjustments at play that i lose track
