I have what is the student edition equivalent of Lightroom 4.4 Is there any worthwhile feature why I should upgrade to 5.5, looks like any lens and my camera are supported.

Thanks

The Student Edition has everything LR 4 offered.

Compare the 2 here - https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/versions.html

IIRC the Student Edition was $99?
The full retail price for the regular LR 5 is $120 - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5

Or you can get LR 5 and Photoshop CC as part of the Photography program subscription @ $9.99 per month - https://creative.adobe.com/plans?store_code=us

I got the student edition for around 70.00 at the time I purchased it, will read up on that comparison now. The subscription service does look enticing though.

Do not do that.

I have LR4.4 too. I'm still learning all I can do with it. So until I get to a point of "I think I understand LR 4.4 now" I don't plan on upgrading.
Though I do want to try tethering and apparently I need LR5 for tethering my d600. But apparently my d7000 is supported on LR4.4 .. so until I figure that out I'm in no rush yet.

None of the features really make me want to run out and buy it yet. I figured that I would wait until LR 6

I'm sorry if this isn't obvious to me...but what is the illegal activity?

Yeah, that was a headscratcher for me too

Now what is illegal, is if you use MS Paint for all your post processing

IIRC, LR5 has better spot removal options (clone/heal), added a radial filter (instead of just a gradient), Improved/changed the tone controls. Not huge things, but significant... LR5 also got rid of video editing which might be a huge negative for some.

yes, please explain this. I can post a copy of my name on the receipt directly purchased from Adobe if it will ease your concerns.

edit : I paid 90.00 for it, thought it was less.

FYI, I'm pretty sure I paid $70 for my Lightroom v4 which was an Educational version from BestBuy .... I work at a University and met their requirements.

There were posts removed that were advocating the theft (pirating) of Adobe's software.

Photography Forum & Digital Photography Forum FAQ

In the future, maybe a mod should make a notation that they removing posts that violate TOS. I was kind of ticked initially cause it seemed like it was directed at me.

If your post is still present then it wasn't you. That seems simple enough.

Articulating specifics on what was deleted singles people out. Articulating the content of what was deleted defeats the purpose of deleting it in the first place.

Move on.

Maybe I'm too stupid for it to seem simple to me. Nowhere in there did it say someone else's post was deleted so how am I to know it wasn't something I said ? Other forums I'm on, if a post is deleted by a Mod, their name is there, but the body is deleted. Apparently two other people weren't clear on it either.

Now you can Move on.

well on the forum I'm also an admin on .. when we delete a post .. it's totally gone
or we move threads .. like spam, etc that go into a moderator section for our records.

it's just sometimes odd when something like this occurs.
