Aperture vs. Photoshop/Lightroom/Etc.

I currently use Aperture to edit my photos. There are a few things it does not do (or that I haven't figured out how to do in it)...

• Add a watermark
• Other overlays and composites (layers, I guess)
• A tool to select an area of the photo to manipulate independently of the rest of the photo

What else am I missing out on by staying with Aperture? I have zero experience with other editing programs. Enlighten me.
