Hello all,
Does anybody else have this lens? What are your experiences? It would be nice if somebody could compare it to "L" glass or Nikon VRII.
My experience?
It's sharp as a tack, just other reviewers have said but presents a somewhat "clinical" image and the bokeh could be better. I know "clinical" is not a photography word but it's the best description I can give. Compared to the Tamron 70-200mm - The Sigma focuses TONS faster and never hunts - but in comparing some photos -the Tamron has some pretty amazing bokeh and the colors are very nice. At the end of the day though - all things considered - the Sigma is sharper,faster and better in almost every respect.
It's not in the same category but the 70-300mm VR ED has amazing bokeh when pushed to 150mm+ and worth a mention for folks on a more strict budget.
