Appropriating the 19th Century

Spoecifically, the western (U.S.) painter, Arthur Mathews. Note: I don't have the skills to set out to do an image in the style of Arthur Mathews. I got this image to just where I liked it, as you see it, and my wife commented that we have cards with similar images. She got them and they showed paintings of Arthur Mathews in the Oakland (California) Museum. I'm very happy with the image, but the title is misleading. Kind of like shooting at the wall and then painting a bullseye around the hole.
