Lovely shots! Achie would appear to be well loved!

So I take it that the Southern types over there can't handle a bit of weather then? lol! :)

Naw, it's just that the Northern blokes are thick thinking the Southern blokes are Nancy's. Have a gander at the Guy Ritchie film "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels".

Oh thanks for the link, must say I do like the look of their Safari Li-on Portable Flash and its getting some higher reviews (and is cheaper!) than the Ranger Quadra which is a setup I have had my eye on. Sadly portable pushes the cost up a lot for the battery, but its worth it for the bonus of being able to work remote without having to buy and bring a whole generator along with me

The Lencarta is battery is small comes with a small shoulder bag and you get quite a few more flashes than the others and i think it will run off electric if you want to do portraits at home

Yeah the Ion ones will fire whilst recharging - which is pretty much saying runs off the mains :)

I might seriously put those down as my next big purchase after a longer lens - plus it adds a little more excuse to consider getting a flash meter at some point as well (at the moment the only real excuse is to make the RB67 flash shooting not need to involve quite as much math/experimentation)

I should have some negs and scans back in a few days that i shot with my studio lights, i bought my Mamiya for still life and portraits but it will shoot almost macro with it's built in bellows but then you have to compensate on exposure

Yep same with mine, though I have got some extension tubes and there is a macro lens I can get which I might well aim for. Though I've read that the default lens and tubes can already get pretty close already.

Last night I spent about a half hour looking at the Lencarta video demos on YouTube, and perusing the specs, and the link that Gary referred somebody to yesterday. I must say, the Safari series stuff looked quite good, and the ratios looked very practical. Size, weight, cost,GN output, and number of flashes per charge looked really, really good to me. A little bit more research showed me that there is a Jendai brand unit that appears extremely similar, and the Lencarta company has even commented on the similarities. Apparently the case and buttons are purchased from the SAME manufacturer in the case of both the Lencarta and the Jendai power supply, but they stated that the Lencarta lights have better capacitors and better recycle time. Not sure, but the presence/option of of a lower-cost "clone" or Chinese knock-off would be a good thing IMHO, especially if the price is substantially lower on the Chinese heads; the flash tubes are manufactured by the German company PerkinElmer, so that's a good thing.

Overall, the Lencarta looked to me to be a really NICE portable, two-outlet power supply, with very SMALL, compact flash heads.
