Hadn't touched the camera for a couple weeks. There was some nice light the other morning and she was waiting for her breakfast.

I would go back to the original and level the tones a lot.
Without the color I don't think the tones here are very attractive.
Note the very light flat areas (red) and the very dark areas (yellow).

It would have been great tone for a woman, nostalgic looking, with more grains.
But for a child, not very appropriate or interesting.
As The_traveler said, level the tones, overall, I like the composition
