It looks like the lighting was pretty harsh, and the CPL might have helped a bit, but that edit just looks a bit too contrast-y for me. That looks like the same car I saw a few weeks ago at Road America, and it really does have a semi-gloss finish that looks quite a bit like the image in the OP's photos.

As far as composition goes, I'd either like to see just a bit tighter framing or something wider that shows something unique about the track -- I keep forgetting to get those when I'm at the track, and the can help provide a good setting for the tighter shots. I'd skip the ones with fence between you and the car. as long as you're getting some other good shots.

Yup!

Maybe you can't get a good shot of it as a spectator, but there's only one of the most iconic corners in North America there.

You might be too young to remember Zanardi. ;-)

Nice, that's a great series to participate in. I was asked to shoot each race for Aston Martin. I had to decline due to my full time job. The GT4 is a nice ride.

Laguna is one of Americas premier tracks. The corkscrew is probably the most famous corner in all of motorsports.

And from what I've seen, this track lends very well to spectators and photography.

I've never found a track to not be entraining. Then again, I'm a racer at heart. So anything with a motor gets my motor revving haha

I've certainly found that there are tracks that are tough to shoot as a spectator (ex: Indy), and there are tracks that are "generic" enough that it's tough to really tell what you're looking at from most photos, but the Corkscrew, at least, is one of those corners you can ID with just a glance -- just like Eau Rouge at Spa or Karussell at the 'ring, there's only one place in the world like it. It's definitely on my bucket list.
