Any audiophiles and/or gurus out there? Have a weird question:

I have a bluetooth adapter (here) for my car that I use with a 3.5mm jack. This connects with my iPhone (5 and 4s) for streaming music and calls.

Works fantastic for output, BUT, not at all for input. The phone tries to send my voice (when on the phone) through the bluetooth adapter. Which doesn't work since there's no mic in the car or the adapter.

My question; is there any way to either:

1. Isolate that bit of the signal so the reciever is only pushing audio through the car speakers, and not trying to catch audio.

2. Make it so the phone defaults to the build in mic, and then bluetooth connection for the audio output.

Considering that what you want is standard equiptment in a $40,000.00 vehicle I think what I posted for under $100.00 is about as cheap as you are going to find.

That is not a fair comparison in any sense lol, technology in vehicles is typically 2-3 years behind the curve. Not to mention that you can find the same feature standard in a sub $15k Hyundai now. What I'm looking for is a way to exploit my current equipment, not buy new stuff. It's just a board and wiring, so I know there's a way to tap into it for what I want, I just haven't found it yet and was hoping for some input.

Actually a fair comparison. Whether it is the 40,000 or the 15,000 vehicle. What you have is a receiver. What you need is a transceiver. What I linked to was a transceiver.

Your other cheap option is get these and forget about the blutooth receiver.
