Auto Focus question

I am having a difficult time focusing on my subject through the view finder, it seems to want to focus on something that is not in the middle of my focus square (right word?) here is an example, i was focusing on his head but the body is in focus, works fine when using the LCD screen to focus. any help?

I don't know what camera you are using but mine has a ring of focus points in the view finder and in the more manual modes (not sure about auto) you can specify a point for it to focus on. It might be that yours is set to one side or up or down.

In your quick menu. Right next to the large icon for what mode you are shooting in, centered top to bottom should be your focus mode/focus point indicator.
You should be using manual select: single AF point.

OP... RTFM, bro! It can answer a lot of questions. You might even consider a good book on your body (see if David Busch write anything on that body)... Like the use manual on steroids.
