Nice shot. I like the stand of trees on the left and the trees in the distance. They give a nice sense of space. I'd like to see it with the camera rotated a bit to the right... there's too much of the rough area on the left and not enough of the planted field. And the sky looks over-processed.

Thanks for the feedback. I believe that compositionally the image leaves you wanting to see more of what's to the right, so I agree 100% with your suggestion. Unfortunately, what was to the right was not interesting, so I chose not to include it in the frame. Regarding the sky, I didn't do anything at all to it in post-processing.

I gotta agree....the left side of the shot is lacking .......by your standards. I want to see more of those lines to the right!!! They make the shot! I also think the lines are too centered, they are dividing your picture in half. Keep shooting babe!!

I think the composition works as is, but I too have an issue with the sky. How the sky looks always depends on how you do the BW conversion, so it does come from processing at some level. It looks a little "fake" even if this is a reasonable interpretation of how the sky looked, and if it were lighter, the dark areas on the horizon and in the foreground would stand out better.

It does seem to have a bit of visual tension...where I'm really wishing that I could change the direction/perspective to see more, or to see less...I'm not sure. I just know that I keep staring at it, wanting to move or change something. But because it does that, I'd call it a very interesting or successful image. Especially if that was your intended purpose.

One thing I keep thinking, while viewing the image, is that I want to photograph the scene, but with the edge of the grass/field turned so that it created a diagonal leading line (not a vertical down the centre of the image). You know, something that is usually very helpful in a landscape image. But if it was shot that way, it probably wouldn't have the tension it has now, and would probably give a very different feel.

I think I misinterpreted ScubaDude – I thought he was referring to the clouds. Yes, I definitely treated the sky as I usually do to get this darker tone. I agree that a lighter sky would've been a wiser choice for this image.

Not my intended purpose. I actually wanted to create a peaceful, pastoral scene... so the visual tension was not part of the menu Back to the drawing board, I guess...
