Autumn Sweet Peas (Magenta and Green are Complements).

Out for my walk yesterday and I found some late blooming legumes (sweet peas) in a back alley. These were as pure magenta as any flower I've ever seen.

Very pretty! Only thing I would change would be to make the DOF slightly shallower. But what do I know, I'm a noob.

Very nice! Any less DOF and you would start losing bloom... just about perfect for my tastes.

Thanks, glad you liked them. Yep, DOF with closeups like this is tricky. I used to be more meticulous back in the film days when you had to pay for every exposure. Now after 35 years I take more photos than ever as I carry my camera everywhere I go. And I enjoy it more using a digital camera; you just erase the bad ones. Anyway, instead of a tripod and all the work that goes with it I usually now just take a set of 1/2 dozen or more "DOF brackets" hand held. Then when I get home I look for the keeper and can the rest.
