This is a nice comparison and now you get my challenge: go back to that self-same spot in spring and get a photo of the scene with the very bright spring green. And then (of course) go get one in summer. You might want to return at a time in autumn when the tree and bushes still have some colourful leaves?

I really like this. I saw a recent report on CBS Sunday Morning (TV programing in the states). It featured a photographer Stephen Wilkes who takes photos out of a bucket truck from sun up until sun down and then stitches the photo together where morning turns to night in the same photograph. Anyway, I have thought it would be neat to create an image like that where you blend the seasons. That's probably pretty tricky but how cool would that look.

I tried one from Summer to Winter in same shot - Trees.
I sort of works, but I am not overly keen on it

Yeah I'm sure it isn't easy. I think a big part of doing that type of photograph is knowing where you are going to transition the photo before you even start taking the pictures. For instance, I could see using the road in your first photos as a transition point for part of the image.

I think the break is that the winter part is over the water where it's not grounded, so it just looks like the trees are half dead.

Try reversing the summer and winter halves and let the summer half also share some of the land and see how it comes out.

How nice - and spring has definitely further advanced where you are than it has here - but I would have loved to see some more of the nice spring green on the tree, too, just that wonderful green of small, new leaves.
