B&W or color? And overall CC welcome!

I am relatively new to photography, but I think the B&W is much better. It just jumps off the screen at me and looks so much sharper. A nice picture.

the only reason the b&w one looks better is because the other one was underexposed, and needed to be color corrected

I hate to critique kids shots because well if its your own or someone close its more personal. I just don't think both of these work. The eyes are scary if you look at them long enough. And because the are so big thats where my eye stops. The black and white only intensifies that.. I also am not digging the composition. Almost the whole head is cut out of the frame.

On the good side good separation from the background..

I personally love huge eyes and was trying to enhance them as much as I could. What is scary to you seems magnetic to me. As for cropping, I agree it is very tight. I wish i didn't have to crop it that much. Unfortunately there was no way to crop it in any other way than this one without the picture looking strange simply because of the position of the baby to all the other subjects around (and the baby didn't cooperate very well).

Different browser using if different colors???? That's a new one to me. Most of us are using calibrated monitors for color accuracy.

His skin needs some softening and the image looks cool/blue. I don't care for the composition with his eyes way up in the corner. I too think the b&w one is better than the color one for the reasons above. However, you've got no detail to his cheek, it looks flat, and his eyelashes are cut off. If this were my image it would go straight to the trash, too close of a crop/shot (cutting off too many important parts).

Not all browsers are color-aware.

My preference for this image is color. The B&W image lacks tonal gradation in the facial skin, which is imporved in the color version.
