Nice set and #1 for me! A waterproof camera bag might help with scenes like what you described. They can be a bit of a hassle in that you might not be able to get to all your display buttons while the camera is in the bag but making those adjustments before the camera went into the bag may be possible. of course you would have to cut out a hole in the bottom of the bag to be able to use it on a tripod. I only paid $26 for mine.
