I really like the first shot

For me, there is too much extraneous room on either side of the figures, soI'd crop them in significantly. I included the lock on the second shot for added emphasis, and removed the excess off the left and right side of each. If the information there was giving more details about the story, I'd leave it, but it's not.

For me, I see a man with two choices. Cropping the second passage takes that feeling away.
