Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
1. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to using 1080p video @24fps over the 720p video @30fps? I know the 1080p will be better, but the frames per second sort of confuses me.

2. What is a correct shutter speed and aperture to use when recording video?

24fps can look a little choppy to some. The 720p video will look smoother, but lower resolution. It's really your preference. 24fps doesn't look at natural to me.

As far as exposure settings, leave it on auto until you've read and understand how exposure works.

Ok, thanks again. I think I mostly understand exposure. If it were bright out and I set an aperture like f/9, would the shutter speed effect the video even if it was fast enough? I know if I chose a shutter speed like 1/4000 there might not be enough light. Would something like 1/100 work? For now I may leave it on aperture priority and let the camera choose the shutter speed.

I don't mean to put you down, but if you have to ask what settings you should use, use auto. Especially since you mentioned you're going on a trip soon, you'll get the best results if you use auto until you learn a little bit more about photography.

you're not putting me down. I am just learning photography and learning how to use my dslr. thanks.

Go to your library and find a book on photography, and sit and read it with your camera next to you, and play with your camera so you can make the things you read about in the book happen with your camera.
