Some nice cloud really can make a difference to an image. It was still around 27 celcius so nice walking.

Thanks. Yes, plenty of sharks around but they only take one or two a year so your odds are good

Man, those things still give me the creeps, though. I wouldn't dare swim in any water where they're known to live only because I think it's just my luck I'll be that "one out of a million" that a croc goes for and what a dreadful way to die.

Man, those things still give me the creeps, though. I wouldn't dare swim in any water where they're known to live only because I think it's just my luck I'll be that "one out of a million" that a croc goes for and what a dreadful way to die.

You never swim in any lakes or rivers in the far north of Australia due to the risk of crocodiles. There was a story of an aboriginal guy who was taken by a croc. The croc thought he had drowned him while "death" rolling him and took him back to his nest to rot a bit before he ate him. Anyway the guy woke up, swam back throught the crocs nest, got to shore and ran back to camp to get help.

Yeah, I live in Florida & we have lot's of gators down here. I tell you, they are super cool animals. Very prehistoric. Awesome though.

OMG, that poor guy! Can you imagine the nightmares and PTSD he must have? I read a story about some guys up around there years ago fishing in waist deep water. They said they were keeping an eye on the crocs further away in the water and felt safe because "they could see them at distance." What the fools didn't think of is how many millions of years crocs have been practicing stealth and one went under water undetected, came up behind a guy and launched out of the water and clamped down on his head & neck and took him under ... never to be seen again.
Maybe you heard about that one or about the ranger that told some the college kids camping next to a billabong if they put a light on them (night time) their eyes would give away their positions and as long as someone watched them like that they were safe to swim there. Needless to say, one person was attacked and killed due to the same croc tactic. > They see you, gauge the distance, slip underwater and when they think they're close they surface and launch. I don't recall but I think the ranger was fired over that one, if not he should've been.
