Indeed. The picture is more interesting because of the birds in the the tree, very moody!

I don't really like the vignette in this one though. Vignette is a good idea in this one, but it is too sharp in the edges.

I really like the composition of this shot. I think that vignette could work well with this shot but I don't really like the way it is now. it does not blend well with the picture

Here's the same pic uncropped with less vignette - not sure how I feel about the white space on the left - initially I found it a little distracting - what do you think? I'm also finding it kind of crooked, but am unable to straighten it, because, well, it is crooked - it's a tree. Anyone else find that bothersome?

Yes, it was - huge flakes, and I wasn't sure if they would come off as dirt or something on my lens, to be honest! Glad to know if makes the bark look textured.

I like the original crop, but the second vignette. I agree with the Alfred H sentiment.
