Before the Storm, Cream on Purple

Yesterday there were fronts blowing through and alternating with patches of sunshine. To the north there was a layer of thick clouds hugging the ground, slowly spreading down from the mountains and over the plains. It looked just a few hundred feet deep, almost like a fog bank. You can see the leading edge on the lower left horizon about 20 miles away. Looks like snow today but hasn't started yet except on the mountains.

Colors are pretty accurate and not manipulated.
