Bescor Telephoto

So my boyfriend's dad has no idea what this lens does or is even for, so he gave it to me. However, I have no idea myself. Anyone want to tell me the uses of it?

The lens says it is a Bescor video telephoto 1.5x hi-quality lens made in Japan s7 / 49mm

It threads on to the front of a lens, and increases the lens focal length by a factor of 1.5....and it has a 49mm "male" filter thread....so it will fit, without any adapters, onto the front of a lens with a 49mm filter thread diameter. These are/were reasonably popular for use on camcorders. Quality might or might not be 'acceptable" to different persons, for different uses. Usually not all that hot, but...you know...any port in a storm,and all that...

So, if you have say 50mm lens, multiply the focal length by 1.5 to get the new "effective focal length".
