best value scanner

Well my high school reunion is coming up and I have numerous photos from the 70's polariods and 35mm, b& W- what is the best value scanner to buy- I have 6 weeks to scan them in. I use Mac Book but do have a desk top pc to load them into. Thanks. BTW I just discovered this forum and have found it extremely helpful! Thanks.

One to consider is the EPSON v500

My brother has one and is quite satisfied. I'm a little more demanding and was willing to spend more so I have the v700 with which I'm exstremely satisfied.
