Birds in flight firsts

Good stuff. It is tough. I've been practicing myself for the last three weeks and still a small percentage of keepers. Great detail on the first one.

I've currently been trying shooting with auto ISO, but I've set its max to 6400. Does anyone else use auto ISO for shooting birds in flight or you just manually set it each time? Are there pros and cons to doing this?

I use auto iso for any wildlife photography

Great start. I also use auto ISO and have recently started using d9 focussing when I have blue/white background. In AF C mode.

Second outing this weekend with the Tamron lens, first time trying birds in flight (dam it's tough).

Super start. My first ones were solid, baby blue images.

Thanks!

Nice set!

Cheers! Planning on going back regularly over the year as there is Puffins!!! I got some shots of Razorbills and I think a rock pipit or Skylark, but I'll get a better look tonight.
