In general, the larger the ungulate, the earlier the breeding season.
When I lived in Alaska, Musk Ox mated in August, Moose in Sept, Caribou in Oct, Sheep and Deer in Nov.
Here in Montana, Bison mate in late July, Elk in late Aug/early Sept, deer and sheep in Nov.
This photo was from mid July, just at the start of the bison mating season.
