I like the composition and the cat facing you with the shadow. Very cool. I think the eye is overexposed though...

thebasedsloth - IMO, the cat's head looks a little blown out and the body is too dark... I would not have gone for a centered posed look. Cats are elusive, they stalk prey in the dark, I would have looked for shots that played into that narrative...

You can't really tell from this picture but she's a rather fat cat! So uhh.. not very elusive ;p

The bright alley of light is a strong leading line. Unfortunately, it leads the eye away from the cat and out of the image in the top left corner.

However, that strong leading line is on a diagonal which conveys a sense of movement, which is cat-like.

Perhaps a crop, so the eye camera left is on a ROT power point. All of the white hair and the eye on the sunlit side of the cat's face are blown out (pure white, w/no recoverable detail). I dodged the cats body a bit, and did a little burning on the sunlit side of the face.

I agree with momo. That eye is distracting me from an otherwise great picture. I'd be interested to see this in a warmer tone like sepia. Nice job!
