Black and white scene

I must admit this one doesn't do a lot for me as I keep looking for something in the distance to the left of the tree. I think that colors could have helped. On this monitor it is a little dark.

I will say it was an intersting idea and an excellent attemp.

Isn't it funny how the same photo can conjure up different emotions? When I posted this on another forum, I got the following response:

Now that's what I call stark beauty. Very striking shot and great use of B&W.

I guess if we all felt the same about all pictures, it would make photography a little dull!

It also appears dark on my monitor, but I like the composition.

It is dark, but it seems to draw the eyes towards the distance somehow. I found it very compelling.

I like it. I think it may be a bit more attractive if it were in color. Not sure though.

I really like it...I only wish you would have caught the clouds when they weren't hiding. for some reason the clouds make me think I just missed something.

Hmm... you're right - it would be more dramatic to have caught those clouds in the shot in full more.

I think the clouds would have really done it for this one, even in B&W.

I think your framing is very good!

I like how my eye is drawn to something(like the others said) in the distance.

reminds me of the stephen king books "the dark tower trilogy"
