Thanks for all the kind comments. This was the closest I have ever got to a Heron (150mm focal length on a 150-600mm Sigma). It was at a park overlooking a small pond beside a small lake. This guy was intensly looking down into the water. I waited a while for him to strike but the heat was almost unbearable.
