Blue Iguanas are indigenous to the Cayman Islands and are an endangered species. Their habitat is being encroached on, and the introduction of dogs, cats, and rats has had a negative impact on their numbers. I had the privilege of visiting Grand Cayman and getting some images of the wonderful reptiles. The are not very shy and can be found on the eastern end of Grand Cayman both in the wild and in a rescuce located in the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Garden. Some of the images are in the rescue and some are outside. Many of the iguanas, including those in the wild, are tagged with beads.

Great set!

Nice set! The light looks great.

I really like the expression you caught on the first one. He is appraising you from afar and does not seem particularly impressed. It's great!

Thank you! Yes, none of them were really impressed with us. They were just, "Yawn! Another tourist with a camera..." 😋 They are pure vegetarians, but have a strong bite if messed with. They were much larger than I imagined they would be.
Nice catches indeed.
Thank you!

Beautiful shots!
