Boeing DreamLifter 747 Heavy Cargo

Approach to Wichita's McConnell AFB (shares runway with the Boeing Wichita plant)... They load the nose section of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner inside this and fly it to Boeing's final assembly plant in Charleston South Carolina.

This was my first attempt at photographing its arrival. I sorta guessed on where to position myself this time... But I scouted out another place to get a different approach angle for another time! I want to get a little closer to the centerline of the flight path, for a little more frontal shot... And it'll be lower and closer too!

After it landed I drove over to a Boeing parking lot and snapped a few of it on the ground...such an interesting aircraft, for sure!

Being as I grew up in the Boeing world, with my dad starting there when he was 17 (he's 92 now, retired from there at 56), and I worked there from age 18 until age 56 (retired in 2018), I've been around aircraft my whole life....and taking aircraft pictures just seems like the thing to do with my camera hobby....I frequent FlightRadar24 a LOT, to see what's coming and going at the various airports around Wichita...if it something unusual/unique, I try to make my way out and photograph it...it's a kind of Birds-In-Flight thing... LOLOL ...and our Air Force Base, adds to it, with the annual Thunderbirds and Blue Angels airshows....wish we still had the B1s stationed here, they did frequent full throttle afterburner takeoffs!....showing the afterburner diamonds!...now they host air-refuelers...BORING!!

I just recently acquired knowledge of the DreamLifter flight schedule, so I intend to get various photos, from different locations/angles, of the DreamLifter ....until I get "The One"!!!.... LOLOL
