On another note: I wonder why on earth MY thread from September, "What I Did With No TPF Today," is listed in the "Similar Threads" when the only thing I can see that they have in common is that they were both posted on TPF.

Ft. Sill, OK is home to the III Corps Artillery training school. There are hundreds of items related to that as historical markers in and around town, and on the post itself. It's okay not to want to see that kind of stuff........... but they stand ready to protect us from the scary things we don't want to think about.

Lots of scary stuff in OK. Good use of DOF. The lettering reminds me of the movie FURY.

I looked it up, it seems it is a 203mm self-propelled howitzer. Another pic from Wikimedia Commons.........

I'll try to make it out to the army post one day, there is a pic I want to take for you all. It's the home of Atomic Annie, the worlds first atomic-shell-throwing howitzer. She's a beauty! There were a couple or three made, but she's the original.
