Bridal Veil Falls

Took these of Bridal Veil Falls today. First attempt at landscape. What am I missing?

Light is pretty flat and bland. The angles are not very flattering. The subject is very isolated from the rest of the frame. Waterfalls photos are great when you can see where the water is coming from and where it is going. Try to incorporate foreground elements as well.

I would try a longer focal length and get further back. That way you can keep the subject larger in the frame and be able to add in some of the other elements.
