How close to the traffic was this shot...

Did you use a tripod?
What were the settings if you do not mind?

I used my wide angle lens so I was a little closer to the traffic than it looks....about two feet in to the sidewalk from the street. ISO was 100, shutter speed 2 seconds, and aperture at I think f/4.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I used a tripod setup to eye level.
