Not a bad family photo for remembering the location

But if you're aiming for a high quality portrait, there are some things you could improve upon:

1.) Posing: To me, the family looks unnatural and forced. I would like to see more of mom and dad without the kids blocking them so much. Hands are in awkward positions.

2.) Exposure: The waterfall is brighter than the subjects. This is distracting to me and pulls my eye away from the intended subjects. The wide crop doesn't help with this.

3.) Post Processing: looks ever so slightly over processed to me. Maybe a touch too much saturation or clarity, it's hard to say. Granted I'm viewing on an iPhone currently, so this point may simply be attributed to that fact.

If this is a self-family-portrait, I'd say it's a huge win!
I think the posing is great! It doesn't look forced at all, the family looks relaxed, and I don't think the hands look unnatural either. You have different head heights, in a tilted "diamond" which is a great way of grouping heads.

Yes, I didn't have a remote with me unfortunately. I had the camera setup on a tripod on one bridge and set the family up on the other and ran back and forth. This was 1 of 6 attempts.

no, the clarity slider was heavy handed here...

It wasnt. Clarity at +12

What you may be reffering to is the levels adjustment to add a bit of a matte look and added contrast.
