I like the composition but the water and tree are not sharp.

I agree that the tree could be more sharp. I am unsure if the lack of sharpness is a result of the lens I was using or focusing technique.

Maybe in colour this would look better, but in b&w it is just to grayish.

I very much like the idea behind this photo!
Something is missing to make it perfect, maybe it's sharpness, maybe it's just some tone curve adjustment. I'm not sure.
A wider crop to make the tree look more 'alone' might help me too.
