Yes they are around but a little lower down from where I am. I haven't heard of Pance being dangerous but maybe it is. The Rio Pance is the destination for caleños on weekends and the traffic along that road is horrendous.

I just realized the Flicker page you linked is Juan José Arango's. He's a terrific bird photographer. He came to my place to get pictures of the Multicolored Tanager.
 
The first is a lovely shot with that emerald like eye shining nice and bright. The 2nd one has some visible noise.

You are right I will have to try and get rid of that in darktable.
