So my camera bag just fell off a roof, 23' straight onto concrete, there's a lot of gear in it and somehow only 3 lens hoods where damaged! I did the math and it's the same force as a sledge hammer swung by a massive dude right onto the bag - I think the camera gods were on my side today!

Here are some pics and a more detailed explanation

Yeah well let's just say "crud" wasn't the only thing I was scared out of..

And thanks, happy chanuka to you too :P

Yeah, well I mean I've got everything insured, so at worst it wouldn't be too bad, but my heart certainly missed a beat when I saw it falling/I nearly jumped after it!

Yeah, I probably would have instinctively fell after it. Or shat my pants. :biglaugh:

I'm sure at least one of those two, or possibly both would have happened if I were you.

Are you sure all lenses still work properly? Some of the elements might have shifted? I would check before you do important shoot.

I have a Lowe Pro bag but I am also a mariner and know ho to tie knots.:sexywink:

Boy, that bag just paid for itself..... didn't it?

If I were you I'd go buy a lottery ticket.

Dude! You were totally lucky! You'd ought to run out and buy $20 worth of lottery tickets ASAP, and then IMMEDIATELY

Already checked and double checked everything and made sure all focusing is intact :)

hehehe :P I wasn't the one who tied it, however that's not to say I would have done a much better job..

Well, what kind of bag was it?

Lowepro Vertex 200AW - this bag has survived just about everything for me now... hurricane rains, soaked in a giant puddle of mud after said hurricane, getting soaked at sea on the deck of a tiny ass fishing boat.. wow.. I'm pretty irresponsible lol
