Camera Review Assignment Photo

I took this for my camera review assignment and used this photo as part of the blur exercise my teacher wanted me to do. The details of the photo that I put down in my notes were f/4, ISO 400, and a shutter speed of 200ms.

G'day mate

If your assignment was "depth of field blur" then you have passed with flying colours !
Suggestion - do it again and shoot 2 pics, 1- at F4 (as above) and one at f16 and show the teacher the difference

What I see is the cluster of leaves in good focus, the tree is soft, so it looks like the leaves were towards the camera, and the background nicely blurred. My guess is this was a DOF (depth of field) exercise. You might want to go to: Understanding Depth of Field in Photography for an excellent tutorial. You might also want to search for a good online DOF calculator, play with the parameters to get a feel for it.
